Me, Myself and I

Hi Everyone. I thought I’d take the opportunity to introduce myself properly!

My name is Kate and I’m 32, living in Birmingham with my little family.

When I’m not running around after my two Littlemen as a full time mum, I’m a blogger and crafter/small business owner

I started blogging and Blissful Hearts Galore during my maternity leave with my first Littleman. After a few battles with postnatal depression, I found crafting and seeing creations come together really therapeutic. It also gave me something for myself, a bit of identity, instead of just being ‘Mummy’. Something I think most parents can relate to

Family means everything to me. I knew returning to work with the costs of childcare wasn’t really an option, plus, to be honest, I didn’t want to go back to work! It’s hard work raising children full time, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Sounds a bit like a dating profile haha

A few fun facts for you:

  • I’m a huge fan of rubber ducks! I must have over 50 of them around the house (and even some still at my parents’ house, even though I’ve not lived there for a number of years now!!)
  • I broke my ankle in 3 places whilst on holiday in Tenerife by falling off a curb…..sober!! Hey, if you’re going to do something, you might as well do it properly hehe. I now have 2 metal pins, which is great fun when you go through airport security! I’m afraid to say, that the experience has put me off going back to Tenerife any time soon
  • I’m scared of escalators, but only going down. I would say it’s a fear of falling after breaking my ankle, but it started well before then lol. This fear is called escalaphobia and affects hundreds of thousands of individuals all around the world. It’s common to feel trapped when you are at the top of the escalator and feel like you might fall or tumble down
  • One of my silliest proudest moments is doing the Macarena perfectly at my wedding in a full length wedding dress
